I was a virgin at 18 as well, man. It’s only a big deal if you make it one. Here is an important bit of knowledge: people are scrambling to hook up with each other in college. I suspect it’s because a lot of them, like you, didn’t have much luck in high school and are starting to form new identities or whatever in college, but the whole cultural idea that college is a place where it’s very easy to hook up with someone? It’s generally pretty true.
Also, “being prepared” isn’t really a big deal either. Try to be comfortable with yourself and the woman you end up being with, and explain to her that it’s your first time (who knows, it may be hers as well). I’m gonna be honest with you, sex isn’t rocket science. Great sex takes some effort, but sex itself is pretty much instinctive for most men and women. Just relax. Anxiety and overthinking will harm you more than anything else. You’ll be fine.
